15" BL enclosure question

I'm in the process of buying a 15" BL within the next two weeks.

i was going to pay someone to build me a box, but its going to cost +$200 and take well over 3 weeks for him to build it.

so i decided to do some some research (and save some $$$$) and found two enclosure plans that fit the 15"

what one should i build?

the first design

This will work. Around 3.85 ft^3 tuned to 33 Hz. You could double the front baffle making the box 19.25" deep and get rid of the two small braces.

or this one

Net volume: 3.5cuft

Tuning: 33Hz

Port Area: 52.5(15"Hx3.5"W)

Another question, Its a fully loaded 15" Bl powered by a rockford fosgate T1500-1BD

the amp is rated at

1000W x 1 @ 2-Ohms RMS

1500W x 1 @ 1-Ohm RMS

is it safe to wire the subwoofer at 1ohm for daily play?

i know they can take a good amount of power, but how much is safe for continuous daily play?
