Ok I am about 10-11 months from buying a 2009 Mini Cooper S (waiting because I will pay cash) so I have started my plan for the low end. I have a 10" BL on the way and plan to run it of of a Fosgate 25 to life Punch 150 (birthsheet states >800w rms) I want to keep the box small but want good bottom end I am looking at around .5- .7 ft^ Has anyone run the BL in a small box like that? Any problems or chalenges? I can go larger if need be as the car will not be a grocery chaser but my commuter car BUT I want to still have space in the tiny trunk area for the times the wife and I need to put something back there. As you can see I have time to change the plans but the BL is on the way and I have the Punch 150 so those items are in stone. The rest of the system will be stock with the Harmon Kardon 8 speaker option with the 230w amp.

Thanks all for any opinions/comments and or ideas!

FI website says a box for a BL 10" should be "Ported box: .5-1.2 cuft @ 30-37Hz"

I would build a bigger enclosure than 0.5cf. Very small box + low tuning = huge port.

Kinda digging that Idea, slot port running under the amp rack to the other side of the car. How big do you think it would need to be H X W if it could be 44" long? lol

Going to be a really long port, only thing is with the smaller side of the spectrum your bottom end output really suffers. With that amp i'd try to go on the mid/larger side of things. The BL's honestly dont get to full boogie until about 1500 watts.

well I think with that much power it would probably over power the rest of the car. I will leave the option of a larger amp in the amp rack build when I do it.

All still in the planning phase so I do have the time to try things till I put it in the final car. :) If it sounds anything like my X's in IB I will happy either way!

on a side note, I will probably have my MINI in Nov-Dec!

This is kinda the rough idea I had.

I size will be determined by the space behind the seats of the mini. Box will be on one side of th ecar and the exit for the port on the other. (port is red area)

Please feel free to tear it up!
