kinda a general question but what is a good sub to run off 400-500 wts rms. want decent sq. i will put it in sealed or ported which ever works best. budget no more than $250

The new SI Mag would be my recommendation, for that budget it's one of the best drivers I've heard so far...

Mag sounds better then an ICON?

I've only heard the Icon in an IB setup, and I don't think I could pick a clear favorite out of the two in that situation. I don't know what it sounds like in a smaller sealed enclosure, so I don't know if I have a favorite between the two in that.

However, the Mag does have some advantages over the Icon, such as smaller mounting depth, that may factor into the installation. Or not. :)

if he isn't buying right away a SI BM would work too and at $150-200 way under budget. and .5 sealed makes it able to go just about anywhere.

i will look into the SI,..about the icon how would it do on such low wattage?

so your not interrested in my atlas? its 300-500wrms, svc4, 15, i've never heard a mag or icon but i know the atlas will give them a run for their money sq wise since xbl^2 pwns all. plus it has an adjustable qts option so you can change the qts to match your box better, something the icon/mag do NOT have. asking $150 shipped.

just fyi, the mag uses xbl^2 too. Atlas is a respectable woofer though.

The used Atlas is a good idea, IXL maybe.
