Posted July 15, 200817 yr Hi there, I am 17 and do know some about car audio, as I do mod cars. I currently owna 2000 cavalier. I have had 2 systems, and just not yet satisfied with either of them. I am looking for a subwoofer than can handle my Lanzar Vibe 1000 Watt Max amp. I was looking at a FI BL, but i am afraid of clipping. What about a JLW6, they are 400 RMS, right? so i risk blowing it with too much power. What do you recommend me for awesome bass, that i will be satisfied with, without breaking the bank. Thanks!
July 15, 200817 yr I love the JL w6, but it is not at all the right type of sub for you. First things first you need to address how much space you have for a box and what alignment you are going to build.
July 15, 200817 yr Author well i've had a 6.0 cu ft. ported box in my trunk before. It was a Kicker L7, i loved it, but i only had the 1000 watts on that too. I might go about and get a hifonics amp then get the BL.
July 15, 200817 yr Author The Kicker was not mine, it was a friends, he let me have it for a week to see if I liked it, but he sold it before I could come up with the money. Are Hifonics just poorly built or what? I see guys on youtube with them on FI BL's kicking hard.
July 16, 200817 yr Author hey thanks guys. Chris is helping me get my set up around and pricing everything out, so hopefully by next summer/spring i will have a FI BL 15" on a Sundown 1500d with 1/0 gauge and big 3 done.
