Anyone know how these amps would compare to each other running 2 btl 18's?

Well both are very strong amplifiers. But the Zapco is serious $$$. What is your goals or intentions?

i have a 9.0 but not a 3000d the 9.0 sounds great but i have a 1500d so i will do a compare on sq tomorrow

well the zapco is serious equipment. But just seems like the SQ is overkill for a BTL. especially an 18. Altho i'd be very interested in hearing the outcome.

Personally, I was considering the C2k and Sundown amps for my current install.

With the 9.0, you get a lot more processing power and features. IMO, you need to use the symbilink cables and all of the other gadgets to make the 9.0 worthwhile.

You'll get more raw power with the Sundown 30000D without all of the frills of the Zapco amp. The only downside is that its 9" longer.

Don't get me wrong, the 9.0 was an awesome amp. Both amps sounded great with no discernable difference in SQ. I listened to the Zapco in a store demo car, the Sundown in my car. Maybe I would hear a difference if I switched between the two amps in my car.

2 BTL 18's? I think the Sundown amp is a better fit.

I'd almost think u could do a 3k on each one huh? I had a customer come in the other day and we installed a Planet Audio RXD2400.1 on a single BTL 18"

Discussing SQ differences for a sub on amps of this quality isn't really valid. Either are fine, both will do power and really for a sub that is what you need. Considering the price difference I don't quite know why you'd pick the Zap.

after playing with both amps you can hear the difference btw the 2 its not a super huge difference but a noticeable difference at that. In this case scenario if you want louder at a cheaper price go with sundown if you want loud and better sq go with zapco.

sell the zapco and the 1500d and buy the 3000d and have some money leftover?

But honestly somehow i don't think at this SPL level you will be able to hear the difference in SQ just by using different amps.

That was your settings, not the amp.

What settings no eq was involved set the settings on both amps the same. They sound different its plain and simple.

I shouldn't have shortened your original quotation

You cannot hear an SQ difference was my point, I didn't mean to infer that they didn't have different sonic signatures but there surely is not a discernible difference in SQ between them. If there was it was your settings.

so you're thinking of either using a 9.0 or a 3000d for the SQ setup? Or am i missing something here?

Oh sry im using the 9.0 for my sq setup and actually still deciding on using either more 9.0's or 3000d's on my spl setup see i can get a used 9.0 for the same price as a new 3000d and i am very familiar with zapco products how ever the 9.0 does not have strapping and you can only get the 9.0 down to 2 ohms or 4 ohm version & the 9.0 only accepts up to 2 gauge power and gnd wire so i have to use converters from 0 - 2 gauge & the only other thing i can see wrong is the 9.0 gets hotter more then the sundown from what i have been using. The reason I dont like the 3000d is it does not have balanced inputs which i can easily fix with zapco sells a product for rcas for balanced inputs. so not really a big huge problem To be honest i think the sundown 3000d will be awesome on my setup. I was told 2 1500d strapped is louder then 1 3000d. So I might end of with 4 -8 1500d or get 2 3000d I have to look into my options here with rules on how many amps I can use and all. The only other factor I need to look into is my alternator I have a 130 amp hi output alt from ohio gen. Thats the biggest they make so I might try to just use 2 3000d's have extra batteries in the back I alrdy have a kinetik hc2400 under the hood of my echo on this car I have decided to use digital design subs not sure which one and hoe many to use. I am still deciding to wall off the car or not which is what i want so i probably will wall it off.
