Hey, I am new to the forums and car audio and general and have a couple of questions.

Firstly I have a budget of about $1000.00 for a sub/amp/amp kit/box.

I am planing to pick up either a Fi Audio BL12 or the Q12.

I am planning to on matching either sub with the US Amps XT-2000D http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=5309

Anywho, I listen to rap and house, and I just want an upgrade for my daily driving. I understand the Q has superior SQ, and the BL has superior SPL. Which sub would be ideal for my listening needs??

Also theres alot of mods you can have with the Q and BL that I don't understand that I would greatly appreciate some clarity on...

For the Q

Ohm - Would I want the dual 1 or dual 2 for the 2000D ?

BP Power - Is this necessary?

For the BL

Ohm - Would I want the dual 1 or dual 2 for the 2000D ?

P Chamfer ?

Cooling: ?

Flatwind ?

Daily or SPL ?

Extreme Lead ?

Universal ?

So ya, any helpful information would be amazing.

Front stage like the speakers ??? Everything at the moment is stock, riding in a 08 Civic Coupe.

I am not too worried about speakers yet cause the stocks are loud nuf.

Q still gets loud if need be...head over to the tech section of the forum, the top has all of the options and everything explained depending on what woofers you are looking at.

I've been looking at amps and found a pretty cheap amp to match it with, a Hifonics Brutus BXi-1208D http://www.ugotadeal.com/product_info.php?products_id=4895

So to hook the BL up for the 1 channel into 1 ohms to take advantage of the 1200 RMS on the amp, would I need to order the BL with dual 1 Ohm or the dual 2 Ohm ???

If it's a single BL, go with the Dual 2 ohm.

imo hifonics is a sad deal. but alot of people love them still, search hifonics here on ssa and you can see the view from many people...

personally i have a hifonics 1608d for now at least, powering my q12 and it works great for me. i have heard from people that the brutus series amps have been known to literally catch fire, so idk if thats just hearsay or what. but i would bet that hifonics just doesnt have a very constistent product so u are risking a little when u get one

if i could do it again i'd save up for something like a 1500d. just my .02
