Posted August 12, 200817 yr How close can i put the back of my sealed enclosure to the back of my speaker pole piece (12' Fi Q) ?Does it matter if it has the BP option are not. Thanks James
August 15, 200817 yr Make sure with it being that close to the wall, that if you accelerate hard or stop hard you don't want your box to slide and your woofer to come flush with the wall. Say bye bye to your woofer god forbid that happens... Edited August 15, 200817 yr by chad
August 15, 200817 yr He means inside the box... like how far does the bottom of the sub have to be from the wall inside of the box.I'd say 1 inch or so... Just enough to get ventilation out of the pole vent...

August 15, 200817 yr I kno the BL and BTL don't, but I thought the Q and SSD did...https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/...view.shopscript
August 16, 200817 yr both the Q and the SSD have a pole vent (I own a 15" Q), when I tried out a sealed box with mine it was just under 3 inches from the back panel, and sounded terrific! I would say at least 1.5" It makes a difference on the low notes when the woofer is moving a lot of air...
August 16, 200817 yr Author What if the Q has the BP option, i read somewhere that it blocks the whole and vents the air around the top plate. Thanks
August 16, 200817 yr I thought I emailed you back about this?3/4" or so is fine, if it has BP Power you can sit the back plate on the back of the box for all that matters..the pole vent is blocked off.
August 17, 200817 yr Is the aluminum compression plug that helps channel air around the coil and the top plate the thing that cuts the air off from the pole vent?
