Posted August 24, 200817 yr If you had to pick out of these few set ups, which one would you pick?1) Fi Q 12" No BP SAE-1000d (Best Box for this?)2) Fi Q 12" With BP SAZ-1500d (Best Box for this?)3) AA Havoc 12" SAZ-1500d (Best Box for this?)4) AA Havoc 12" RF 1500-1BD (Best Box for this?)I'm saving for my first car now and just want to get a nice system put in, budget is ok lower the better obv but dont want to buy some crap. I'm looking at a Corsa 1.2 SXi Twinport for the car. I'm looking for more of a SQ set up rather than SPL, but as you know everyone still wants it loud. So there you go!All help is very much appreciatedThanks, Pez
August 24, 200817 yr but as you know everyone still wants it loud.Eh, not really...I'd pick the first option in a sealed enclosure.
August 24, 200817 yr I'd personally take option 3. But you could save quite a bit of money by doing what Jim said.
August 24, 200817 yr Option 1 seems to be the best to me.Ported: 2.5 cuft tuned to 32-35hz. (whichever you like best)Sealed 1-1.5cuft. With some polypill if you like.
August 24, 200817 yr Author 1 cuft seems very small "DWill a 1-1.5 cuft sealed box still have some loudness and hit the low notes? JWThanks a bunch
August 24, 200817 yr 2) Fi Q 12" With BP SAZ-1500d (Best Box for this?)3) AA Havoc 12" SAZ-1500d (Best Box for this?)either/orput the Q in a 2.25-2.5cuft box tuned to 32ish and u'll love it
August 24, 200817 yr Admin I would also prefer the 1st option. I vote start in a sealed enlcosure on the larger side of the spectrum with some stuffing. Then, once the sub woofer is fully broken in, decide if you like the sound and output.
August 25, 200817 yr but as you know everyone still wants it loud.Eh, not really...I'd pick the first option in a sealed enclosure.I'd agree 1000%. Sort of an oxymoron to ask for loud and SQ...unless of course you have something really hidden up your sleeve in your front stage.
August 25, 200817 yr Author well i mean i've not had first hand experience with these, i just want to be able to feel some thump behind mei dont mean loud for streetbass wars enough to get a nice vibration

August 25, 200817 yr Author forget it....jeez, just wanna know if it will give summin being sealed because of roomwho has vid of sealed, anyone that can help please
August 25, 200817 yr This is just a pair of wimpy 8's. Think what your 12 will be capable of.eM28sy7Gj-8
August 25, 200817 yr forget it....jeez, just wanna know if it will give summin being sealed because of roomwho has vid of sealed, anyone that can help pleaseVid's don't show you anything. A sealed box by default will have more cone motion than a ported enclosure.I could make this easier. Define what you want but DON'T use terms like SQ or SPL just put things in your own words. Currently you are mixing up terminology and asking for dire opposites.
August 25, 200817 yr Author i see where you are coming from i know you cant have both!i didnt explain very well, i want SQ because im gunna be playing music a lot in my car but i dont really want to let the whole street know. But i want to know if you will definatly feel the bass otherwise i may be changing my optionyou can not tune a sealed box? so didnt know if it will hit say 32 Hzwhat RMS them 8's runnin at? looks good enough for me, be able to hear that nicly Edited August 25, 200817 yr by Pezzaboi
August 25, 200817 yr #2 if money isn't an issue with a sealed enclosure. That way you have extra power if you really want to turn up your volume. If not...I'd pick the first option in a sealed enclosure. Edited August 25, 200817 yr by chad

It should seamlessly blend with the rest.
August 26, 200817 yr Option 2 or 3 with a low tuned ported enclosure. I think your really just wanting it to sound good and be able to get louder when you want. I don't think your really wanting sq that much. Correct me if i am wrong but i think you want to be able to listen to music and still be able to hear your mids and highs as well as louder than normal bass.
August 26, 200817 yr Author Hmmm i think maybe cman is right,, Ported is for meso what 2.5 cuft 30 Hz?Pez
