I dont get why he shouldent get a cap. I always though a cap was almost the same thing is a battery but mabey im wrong lol.

Exactly what I'm saying, it's a external altenator basically.

haha wow this thread went way off course but whatever i don't care its not my money or equipment. a 5farad cap isn't enough might wanna look into atleast a 10farad to be on the safe side.

Stinger has a 15 farad for 127? Not too expensive for that high and that name of a brand?

I'd read a little more into the basics of battery and capacitor theory before making those kind of assumptions :)

stinger is ok not exactly top of the line but will do the job intended. now down to facts. look at it this way. your alt puts out 135amps it charges the bat right, well a cap will only pull more. so now you have an amp pulling current and battery and cap all pulling current. now the cap "stores" energy right well thats true but a battery works so much better. so now instead of having a 135 alt with 3 things pulling major power from it why not just upgrade the alt and a bigger bat so you only have 2 things pulling from it but yet still get the same performance? seems logical to me.

Yes that does sound pretty logical, speaking I did have a power cap on my old system and it drained the car more than it helped it, But the thing is I don't want to go through the trouble of trying to take back the new alt I just bought and had installed to buy another and have it installed. What if I got an extra bat? Is there any other route?

And wait I upgraded the bat along with the alt this new bat is basically a truck bat its a 1200 CA it's pretty big. Would I need to get soemthing else?

What if I got an extra bat?

That would be a good idea.

i'd upgrade the alt first then install your stuff see how much voltage drop you get. if it goes under 13volts i would get a second battery.

I guess I'll put everything in the car wire it and just wait awhile until I get the money to get a new alt. a 220 amp for my blazer runs 200$ and I know they aren't hard at all to install but, what do I do to keep it from overcharging my car? Will it?

the massive p1500 is only a 1500wrms amp it should have no problem on the electrical minor dimming thats about it. idk how much you arepaying for 1500wrms but have you looked into the ma audio hk2000d will do same power but you can pick it up for like $250 with loud being what you are looking for and 1500wrms being the power try looking into the dp 18 or 21 the 18 is less than the btl loaded. your looking at 750 for sub and amp knuconceptz has 1/0 wiring kits for $60 2 sheets of mdf is 40-50 a nice pioneer headunit at walmart 150 a set of cdt cl-s60 100 and a pioneer gm 5300t to power them 115 just over 1200 and that includes the headunit and frontstage wires and wood for box. just need to save some money for some secondskin
