I'm just curious without the ac converterr, what would happen if I cut the power wire and connected it to the battery, or a 12 volt connection.

Would it

A. burn up the ps2

B. Not get ebough power

C. work just fine.

I say B

you could easily damage the PS2, because you will be sending it direct current, when it is expecting alternating

ah, that is true also.

Kinda forgot that a battery is DC, oh whoa is me.

But its not like i was going to do it anyway, i already got powe converters, lol

ok don't go blowing up stuff

Actually, I think the PS2 has a power supply inside it similar to a computer. Should be as simple as bypassing that and getting the necessary 12 and 5 volts DC and you should be good. There are many power supplies out there for CarPcs right now that should be able to handle this adequately, but I am just guessing on this. I am not at all familiar with the electronics. But if you find something out, let me know as I have been studying this for a while and always come to a dead end. I will NOT use a converter in my vehicle.

I wonder if Dave Edwards would know.
