September 4, 200817 yr Author It's no different than any other wire out there. Remove the outside clear layer, remove insulation...Oh OK, I see what you mean, I didn't realize that the outer clear coating was separate.I'm gonna have to pick up some tools now.
September 5, 200817 yr Author How would I go about stripping the larger speaker wire covers (8AWG) which is about the same diameter as 0AWG.Also, what do I use to strip 0 and 4AWG power wire to prepare it for a crimp-on connector. Edited September 5, 200817 yr by b34tBoX
September 5, 200817 yr I've found that the same coax cable strippers that satellite TV installers use, seems to work well for 8awg/4awg wire. For 0awg, utility knife.
September 5, 200817 yr Author Ever see an utility knife before?Yeah, I just thought there would have been a cleaner way to do it. Especially for the twisted speaker wire.I'll give it a go then.
September 5, 200817 yr anything smaller than 12 gauge I use my wire strippers. Anything bigger I use my knife. Just need something with a sharp edge, you know.
September 5, 200817 yr I use a knife for any wire...that's because I can never find my wire stripper when I need it
