Alright guys ive read many of the forums on here and i have a pretty good idea on what im getting. But there is a lot of stuff im confused on..Here is what i know i am getting for sure:

FI BL 15 inch sub

Refurbished Sundown 1500D amp from www.db-r.com

Wiring:http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KLM-AK0

KLM 1/0 Amplifier Installation Kit (60A fuse type) ( Is this the right wiring i should get? I saw people say to get the 1/0)

Now this is where i get confused...

Box- i know i want a ported box, i was going to get my friend to make it. He has experiance making boxes..Or should i get a professional place to do it ( costs way more money though)

these were the demensions of the box i was going to use

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=19549

are these right?

Also for wiring everyone talkes about gauges..running a 0 gauge and what not..To be honest with you i have no idea what this means?

respond as soon as possible

Thanks,

Pierce Mason

its very thick wire.... wire is named by gauge..... 14-12 gauge is normaly speaker wire type.... and 10-0/4 is power wire....

its a measurment,

Also my friend is trying to convince me to get an audioque hdc3 18'...he ses its louder with less power...is this true? or should i stick with the BL 15'

Okay, your friend is partially right. An 18" will be "louder" than a 15" with the same amount of power because it has more cone area to move more air. But you are comparing apples and oranges. The BL will HANDLE more power, that means you can give it more power and that will make up for the lack of cone area.

i do not agree with a sub being louder on cone area alone.

i love my bls.

Well its a VERY sensitive issue, under controlled testing, with the exact same power, and with the same box(proportionately) the larger sub will be "louder"

i know it is.. thats why i didnt say that you were wrong or that that is not true... only that I disagree.

but if you use the same sub and the same power in a test then yes the 18 would prolly be louder.. but like you said... apples and limons.

Yeah, I feel the same way. It shouldn't be like that but it is. I wasn't arguing with you bigjon, I disagree with it too, but we cant change physics!

thanks for the info...the bl i snt on the site right now but i was wondering if anyone could explain what the difference between dual 1 and dual 2 under the ohms option...?

the dual 1 and dual 2 are just the coils impedance .they are different in that they can be wired differently to a specific load to be matched with an amplifier..d1 can be either @ .5ohm or 2 ohm...the dual 2 can be wired @ 1ohm or 4 ohms depending whether they are wired in series or parallel ..on fi's site there are differences in the t/s parameters due to testing with the coils but as nick said its a negligible difference that wont affect sound nor power performance.
