I'm going to purchase two 12 inch RL-p soundsplinter subs and need an amp to run them. They will be going in a sealed box. So far I am considering these 3 choices:

HiFonics BX 1500 D - $279.00

The prices are so close that they are not a factor. I have no experience with these amps and looking for a little input or opinions. If you have any other suggestionsin this price range, I'd like to hear them

I have not messed with he ED enough to have a clear opinion of it, but I know the Orion is a superior amplifer, hey have been doing that for years

That's what I have heard about the orion and it's cheaper too. It's power rating is lower but I don't think I would be able to tel te diference. Plus, I hear HiFonics may overstate their output some. thanks for the input.....anyone else?

i am with denim on this....

i am pushing my rl-p with an hifonics nemsis nx750d, while i'm not unhappy with it, i have yet to test it to see if it puts out close to it's rated power or not. it does have some nice features, but so does the other two amps u have listed.

i would think that with hifonics being slightly overrated, the orion and the brutus would have pretty much the same output, with the orion probably haveing a little more.

with the prices being that close, and i believe the amps' performance being that close as well....i'd take the orion.

somethingelse to look into....

power acoustik this one is $299, but i'm sure it can be found cheaper. i believe ss3079 is running the a2400db, which has the same board has the planet audio 1250d.....so these are pretty decent amps, especially for the $$

he is messing, because the choice is very close that you can't go wrong with either,

I just prefer the Orion

i can vouche for the 9.1, haven't had a problem w/ either of mine yet
