I'm looking for some loud bass (not competition winning, but I do like it loud) but I also want tight, accurate, good sounding bass. I'm looking at the Q series and I'm wondering what you think of the choice. Would a 15" speaker be overkill? Also the recommendation is 2-2.6cuft, as long as it's within those measurements, will it make a difference if it's 2cuft, 2.3cuft or 2.6? Would 2.6 be loudest?

Also, I'm thinking of make a fiberglass enclosure and having the sub face inside the enclosure.

thanks

also another quick little thing, around how much do these subs weigh?

Another thing I was thinking about is would 2 12s be louder? Or going with a different brand entirely?

you will be happy with the Q's sealed.

you could consider 2 12's, I'm not sure about the sub facing inside though... I've heard different things about this, mainly that it was more for looks and took away from both SQ and SPL... But I have just heard this, I'm not 100% on it :)

To get it be the same you need to reverse polarity, it can actually benefit a speaker, the motor is outside an enclosed area and will be cooled down faster versus in the box. And there is no driver displacement.

Yeah I searched around a bit more on google and I'm guessing you heard that from people who have an enclosure designed with the sub to have the magnet inside the box and when the switched it due to the freeing up of volume (since obviously there isn't a sub inside the box anymore) it messed some thing up a bit. I plan on making the box 2-2.6cuft with the sub outside. The question is where I should aim for in the 2-2.6 spectrum.

And also the 1 15" v 2 12"s. The setup is going in a hatchback. I'm actually starting to think the 2 12s.

Whatever box fits. 12's will need more airspace, so you might have to get a 15".

don't do 12's. everyone has 12's. do the 15.

you know you want to..

i got just 1 SSD 12, i havent even heard it yet and i wish i would have got the 15! get the 15!

Who cares if everyone had 12's? Are you that dumb? 2 12's have more cone area than 1 15. Get 12's if you want cone area.

I mean 2 12's = more space required, more power required, more $$$ BUT it will be louder for sure provided the proper installation

1 15 = slightly better low end, less power needed, less $$$ needed, will not be as loud probably.
