I only have basic knowledge of the subject as it isn't my field, so I figure I'll ask.

The coating on nutritional supplement pills ... does it break down slowly in the stomach and release the supplement slowly, or does it just break down and release everything all at once? I figure it's just gelatin or whatever, so it'll break down rapidy and relase the product rapidly. Basically asking if it's safe to take some of that stuff by taking apart the pill and downing it's contents.

I guess it depends on the supplement ... so tribulus terrestris and nitric oxide ... pretty potent stuff, depending on what study you base your opinion on.

My mother used to take apart pills and give them to me as a kid, that was a long time ago though, and it was because I couldnt swallow them. But I will ask her, I think shes still online.

Its gelatin, like you said.

Those " rapid realease" tyenol are gelatin caplets so i think that it just all spews out at once.

it spews all at once I would assume. I took a pill, emptied it's contents and put the empty pill in water. the whole thing just melted.

i know my gf has said that things like tylenol are not as effective if you either pop open a gel cap and mash up a pill

no idea if this applies to that stuff or not
