How many layers/mat thickness do you need for a hull? My Kevlar canoe looks like just a single layer on the sides with some sort of flexible resin, and of course a foam insert and a couple layers on the bottom. 18'6" long and 42lbs.

For a jet ski hull it's normally 6-8 layers and right around 3/8" thick.

Was it laminated with just glass (white) or did it have composite too ?
