I think toward the end of this summer I'm going to buy one of the foreplay III (I think, I know its got foreplay in the name, Jim knows wtf I'm talking about) preamp kits to screw around with and see how I like it.

I had the 2nd version of that for a while...pictures on my SIN gallery. Ran it with JAN new old stock 12AU7s, sounded lovely. Personally, I like a single stereo pot instead of dual mono attenuators, but it's a minor nit to pick.

Bottlehead gear is really cool. I'm sort of stalking a Foreplay that's been hot rodded to hell on Audiogon (tube rectification, tube regulator, totally redesigned power supply)...figure I'll swap the attenuators for a nice stereo control and a balance pot. We shall see...

It's really great that there are 2 tube dudes here.

There are others, they just don't post as much...and have some cool 12VDC mobile amps.

friends GF has that enclosure now with my e8a in it

with a 5x3" it is well over 225"s, not sure I can make that work. The 10 is much easier for that reason alone...the sadistic part of me pushes me towards the crazier labyrinth tho.
