I like a long, grantoned slicer myself

Nice to have, but it isn't really all that often that I need one. Curious as to what you use yours for?

cutting roasts mostly. no piece of cutlery I own has ever been over 50 dollars though

not really in a position to be investing in quality cutlery just yet

I also agree that I don't like serrated knives either Matt, but there are many times that it is the right tool for the job and should be used. Things that are partially frozen are much better "sawed", hard vegetables like squash are easier and safer to cut with a serrated knife, delicate things as well for instance a really ripe tomato or piece of fresh bread.

bah even with really ripe tomatoes, if my knife can't cut it then i figure i haven't sharpened it well enough. I just hate sawing through any damn thing but i guess partially frozen foods would benefit from it.

Stupid thunderstorms, made it to the lake unlocked the boat, made a few casts, caught two bass, and then lightening. Walked back to the house and now I bet it will blow over, but all the fish will be laid up and skeered.

your weather is screwy

it's been pretty "cloudy" the last couple days and it makes me excited for rain, but then I remember it's actually from a large brush fire west of town

Pity the floor if I do... I could probably make it anywhere from 2,000psi to 10,000psi concrete... It'll probably end up being a lightweight SCC mix that will make 5kpis because that is what is getting tested in the lab currently and it would be leftover scrap that would fill the voids...

I like you ... you don't do things half assed.

you should see his BIBs.....

tom, just read that post. that's all you need done? send me a pan, with return shipping and whatever you think it's worth. i'll get it notched for ya bro. you want it tig or mig welded? would you like it painted afterwards? polished? just let me know what you want done and send me the pan.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

thanks a ton Kent, that's awesome :D but unfortunately, on Sunday I go out of town for 6 weeks. when I get back though, I'll find a pan and get that to you.

tig vs. mig? whatever works better, it doesn't really matter to me

not sure that Tom is the type to want an oil pan polished...but I thought it'd be cool. When I finally build a car the underhood will be all flat, Exile cycle style.

if anything, I'll want the pan painted Chevy Engine Orange

ICANN has just made a decision that goes beyond allowing .xxx to be a top level domain; they're allowing all words to be top level domains. That means you're going to see domains like fuck.shit, shit.shit, shit.fuck, whatisthisshit.fuck, and so forth. What's not allowed is domains that conflict with trademarks (.pepsi was the example), too similar to current top level domains, or names associated with countries or governments (juicy.turkey). Companies will also register their products and services, leading to really annoying domains like pleaseplayyour.ps3pleaseplease, or dontyouwantanother.ipod. Nice one, ICANN. Nice one.

notched and chevy orange? gotcha!! now get me the damn pan, lol!!

MIG is easier, TIG looks better, and if i notch it accurate enough, TIG can be stronger. i'd have to brush up on my TIG though, and that's not hard to do.

sure you can't get a pan out to me sooner? would give me six weeks to get it right, lol. but for real, just send it when you're ready, and don't forget to include how big of a notch, color and stuff. cause i sure as hell will forget, lol.
