Now you missed me Mr. Matt, time to put some beer in my gullet.
Hmm, if they truly have real Kobe beef then I might have a spending problem.

*obviously didn't go get beer yet, my colleague needs 10 minutes.

I have a beer and just tossed some food on the grill....

Sumos has Kobe beef...

Perhaps it is Kobe-style beef, I doubt it is Kobe. Cheapest I have pretty much seen the Kobe is $15/oz. I don't think people would pay $150/wholesale = $300 for a 10oz steak in a restaurant in Wichita...I could be wrong, but doubt it. And YES the difference is huge. American Kobe-style beef is a joke in comparison. Visibly you can tell the difference even if you don't know what beef looks like.

So can you say what you are doing down in Wichita Sean?

Working with the Aerospace companies.

In town are: Learjet, Hawker-Beechcraft, Cessna, & Spirit Aero. In the past few years, Spirit purchased this division from Boeing and an investment group bought H-B back from Raytheon.

yea the korean got exposed but it's nothing more than immaturity to be honest. I'm still not sure if it's so bad that I can do better, i mean if anyone out there actually knows of a mature girl you've got a gem on your hands.

and YES she's way better when she's medicated

by exposed, do you mean you took her to the redlight district? I love to see the look in their eyes when they realize how the real world works.

real Kobe beef is only available in Kobe

*goes back to his corner*

Not quite. Must be raised and slaughtered in the Hyogo area. Can and is shipped everywhere. Costco sold some at Christmas time, but a prime rib roast was $1700 IIRC.

True true,..you really can find an apple bees or something like that anywhere

I agree. I like the little restaurants that aren't part of a chain. I need to find some around here.. Ive found some places in New Orleans that are suposed to have good BBQ that i wouldn't mind trying..

But I LOOVE Really Good Southern homemade Food :)

then agian...I am a Southern Girl ^-^

BBQ in Kansas >> all

I'm not so sure about that one...

Of course I've never been to Kansas

Kansas City is the home of barbecue! Didn't you know that?

I was not aware, but rest assured the next time I'm in Kansas I'll hit up a good BBQ place

Your lookin' for butt & ribs up here, the brisket is good but that can be found in Texas as well.

Don't be a dipshit and no one will be a prick to you. Really simple actually.

Yeah, I think I'll stick with my grass fed usda choice/prime steaks for 35-60 a piece from the butcher :wacky: :wacky: :wacky:

why do you have poor food selections in Kansas?

Because its Kansas... There are some really good places to eat in the state, you just have to know where the little hole in the walls are, but there are plenty of 'restaurant in a box' places if you like that (Applebees, Old Chicago, etc, etc), but I can eat those anywhere...

The brewery that is in Old Town serves some pretty decent beer I think, but haven't really tried to many restaurants that I could rave about in Wichita, I know the woman realllllllly loves the sushi at Sumo's there in town.

Course then in my opinion there is no place to get excellent food here in Manhattan either, all we have is choke-n-pukes and typical chains.

I am not so interested in Sushi in a town this blue collar.

podunk sushi ftl, great way to get sick.

Sort of like average CA sushi...so prevalent the fuckers don't even care if its old anymore

lol, you hit the nail on the head there, there's gotta be over 20 bad sushi places in town and only two or three that are edible. i don't even know how or why there are so many sushi places in a town of < 100,000 people. i will say though, that when you have a surplus of sushi places some are bound to be really really good.

Yep. Had the worst sushi of my life not so far from you, but also some of the best. Easier to find the worst than the best though which is fucking crazy dumb.

Grass fed?? You sir need to sample the tastier things in life. Corn is what you feed beef, not grass.

Cows don't need feeding...they do a pretty job of that themselves

And if you give them the choice they will eat the corn in front of them and leave the grass. Visit a farm once...

I realize where you are from they graze, but there is a reason that nobody gets giddy over Texas beef of course unless it is brisket but the quality to begin with is a bit less important with cooking methods that take upwards of 12 hours.

I just said they don't need feeding...cows eat the damnedest thing left to their devices...

saw more than a few gnawing on mesquite trees before, made me laugh pretty hard...

I'll admit its not as good, but the grass fed steaks I mentioned above are locally grown and typically cheaper, which are the main reasons I buy them.

I honestly wouldn't rave about Texas beef either. Up until...what was it, WWII? Cotton was king of agriculture in Texas...I'm more proud of that than our cattle quite frankly

Sakana in Montecito would be your best bet for sushi the next time you're here for raytheon or jpl or whatever it is you do when you're in my area. Elements and Bouchon are excellent eateries if you want california/french and Boathouse has the best location. that's really all there is to know about santa barbara; after four years here everything else has been rather unmemorable. oh and i like the fes parker's weekend brunch buffet (it's $45 cheaper than the biltmore's brunch).

Love the rec's.

Thanks guys. I should start a log, but I am not that smart. I will remember to ask though before traveling where someone is nearby next.

I spend a lot of time in SJ, but make it to SB maybe once every couple of years.
