Block heater takes the place of a freeze plug. you should be able to get under the vehicle and observe the wire going into the block, towards the back just under the header. Do you know what a freeze plug is or where it goes?

IF it came from the Northeast, there's a good chance it may even be a Canadian build in which this is a necessity. Does it have daytime running lights?

no, i dont know what a freeze plug is, and i would have to jack the car up to see under it

no, it does not have day time running lights, but i have found a few "Made in Canada" stickers in certain places
