I am going through 5 speed withdrawal.

Honestly, I forget I have a 5spd most of the time. Of course, my car has no balls whatsoever. If I were shopping for a sports car I'd have to have a manual transmission if available though.

Then your definition of sports car and mine are different. Fuck that. I want the car to make itself WAY faster than I could. :P

Thought about that after I wrote it. I've never drove anything like that, so my point of reference is a little different than yours.

Not saying it isn't fun, but as long as I can choose the gear at anytime I don't see any advantage either.

  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

Went out with the neighbor, has a sweet Polaris Ranger with tracks which is a hoot on the ice

Can't you pretty much slide those around on ice relatively easily without flipping, with normal tires.

I remember going to school with someone who had a rhino or of the sort, he would take it up to northern AZ, and mentioned getting some speed up then just sliding it in circles with a bunch of people in it. <-scaring the shit out of them and then laughing.

I think you really like the automatics cause it's easier to eat your cheeseburger while driving. :P

Not so amusingly there is a little asian take out place around the corner where I go and have been known to drive down the street eating with chopsticks. Hell if soccer moms can put on make up I can fucking eat.

On ice you can do it with tracks. Now pulling a 2000lb ice house around takes some traction though which is why he's got the tracks.

Whenever I see chicks putting on makeup and driving, I'm just waiting for an accident to happen, and them running out of their car with a pencil stuck in their eye.

I occasionally eat while driving, also drinking...tea.

Now chopsticks would be a trick.

WAY easier than a fork. Steering wheel hand holds the "bowl" other hand is free to loot from the plate. Easier than holding fries and taking one out. Also easier than looking down into a cup holder or some shit where you set your fries or chicken nuggets or whatever monstrosity is being served up today.

Go drive a lazy 4 door saloon like the Panamera Turbo S and try the launch control and you will NEVER think a manual is yummy afterwards.

I've driven a few lazy saloons and an XKR, all in automatic. If I had to drive it everyday an auto wouldn't bother me. When I say sports car I think older M3 etc. I think I'd opt for the MT in that scenario.

That and being 37 and having a $4M house sort of allows him a different set of toys than you or I

Yeah I can only imagine.

The kid from my school with the rhino, also had a huge sand rail with fox suspension, LS1 engine, etc. His dad owned a construction company.

Pretty wild how people's lives are so different.

Older M3's are slow and yes should be a manual. Not sports cars either.

He makes a good 1/2M a year. Makes me feel stupid for my career choice.

Ok, perhaps a bit. Too much to drink to function tomorrow like I need to. Live and learn...maybe.

I was in the same spot Thursday, lol. Good luck.

Just make this face:

I'm out too. Although I get to pass on my 8:40 class tomorrow. :P

Good for you sir, I have a two hour composition class that starts in less than four hours.
