  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

I would really love to try your coffee Sean. I even went to dun brothers and had some coffee and thought it was burned to shit. I had a really gooe cup at the Dogwood coffee next to the Kitche Window. It was mduch better than expected.

Had a little accident this morning. Legs gave out and when I landed, shook a glass polish heirloom off the wall and it shattered.

Feeling awesome.

Damn Matt.........I'm really sorry to hear about everything goin on brother. I just gotta wonder if a change of scenery might help? Away from the cold and humidity, and down to heat and dry air? I mean alot of people with joint issues do MUCH better down in the South West than they do up North.

If we can do anything for ya, just tell us bro.

That is one example of why I give to the Wounded Warrior Project. That young man gave up so much for everyone here, and I bet a million bucks he knows none of us personally, and yet in a few years he will be forgotten. Most people will never know what he gave for them.

Don't forget our servicemen and women, and thank them for what they are willing to give for you.

Same reason I give what I can where I can. I know I have been lucky on my deployments. Some people I knew very well were not as fortunate.

I was actually thinking about you and my son when I said to say thanks to our servicemen and women... Fortunately both of you have been unscathed thus far.

The wife and I just had a climate talk. If this is permanent we will move.

Just because someone is fat doesn't make them funny.

Even if they are comedian.

Some shit posted on fbook.

I think history classes would have served her better.

Perhaps a health and diet course too.

Couldn't hurt. :P

Doing a lab report for bio nutrition, and I'm reading through the book:

Because the body builds muscle protein from amino acids, many athletes take protein powders with the false hope of stimulating muscle growth. Muscle work builds muscle; protein supplements do not, and athletes do not need them. Taking protein supplements does not improve athletic performance.^30

Check out source "30:" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15690307

After 14 weeks of resistance training, the protein group showed hypertrophy of type I (18% +/- 5%; P < .01) and type II (26% +/- 5%; P < .01) muscle fibers, whereas no change above baseline occurred in the carbohydrate group. Squat jump height increased only in the protein group, whereas countermovement jump height and peak torque during slow isokinetic muscle contraction increased similarly in both groups. In conclusion, a minor advantage of protein supplementation over carbohydrate supplementation during resistance training on mechanical muscle function was found

control got 23g carbs after workout, and didn't ingest anything else for 2 hours.

test got 23g protein after workout, and didn't ingest anything else for 2 hours.

Average weight for the test subjects was ~167lbs, both got ~77g total protein per day, and 2750 kcal.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it's fair to say that protein doesn't help in the muscle building process in general when you have group A's results similar to group B's results, and both contain the same amount of protein.

I wonder what their results would have been if each group ate more kcal, and the test group actually received more protein.
