I think it would be - considering that you'd probably be running into some clipping, but since it was tubed you could get away with some clipping vs. a solid state amp, also depending on what kind of tone you like to get.

You can find refurbished/restored monoblock amps with or without tubes off Ebay for so cheap...it's crazy. If you really want a conversation piece, I could put you in touch with the guy who's building my integrated amp, using a 2A3 power triode for each channel, with a tube rectified power supply. I'm sure he'd build mono guitar amps, after all, the concept is the same if not simpler.

Decware also makes a modified version of their Zen amp for guitars, and having owned the stereo version I can tell you it's a very cool little beast. Pretty low powered, though...EL84's running in triode mode, so only about 5 watts in mono.
