.....is the Lincoln navigator the same as an expedition? I'm finding them on craigslist for better prices than the expeditions and even screw f-150's. It's all the same frame and so same suspension etc etc.

They look good but if they are not as rugged I'll pass.

Much more sound deadening for NVH, full time AWD, the Lincoln has air suspension, and the 99+ Navis got DOHC heads. 5lbs of boost and you're over 500HP.

Huh?

With so little boost it gets so much stank? I wonder how it would look with a lift skid plate and 35" on it...

Is it safe to push that engine with so much power with no internal work done? Tranny and rear end can handle it?

I went with a family member to buy their navigator. We asked the same thing. The salesman told us they are exactly the same SUV. There are just a few different upgrades on the navigator and they are all interior/creature comforts.

Another instance of a salesman not knowing what he is selling. They are given a brochure just like you. Unless they are car guys, they have no fucking clue.

The 4V heads move a LOT of air. Pressurize the cylinders a bit and dump a lot of fuel and you're good. All the components will easily handle that. The only thing I would worry about would be the rods, but tons of people run them at 600 or so with no issues. Just make sure your tune is safe and you'll be fine.

Have you priced out Toyota Land Cruisers/Lexus LX's?

Papi doesn't do so well in most Japanese vehicles.

Though I like big SUVs I like them to be mildly capable on questionable dirt roads. And I know 3guys who work on American trucks for me for a song.

It would be really tough to pull me away from the 5.4 liter too.

Toyota has won the world over with their SUVs and trucks. No need to question their capability. The mechanic option is a consideration, but I'm sure you could find a good one for a Toy.

They are easily 2 times the price for similar year and miles. And they have less room, and my guess is less comfortable for a guy my size. My shoulders are the worst part I spread so wide at the shoulders. Of Japanese vehicles it's usually 2 door cars aka no B pillar or cars like the Acura RL. And even then it's been a while.

The cost premium doesn't match the performance, repeatability, or comfort. If I was not over 6 foot and didn't wear a conservative 52 in wider cut suits I may think differently.

It is true though. Those are made to dip into the US market. If I could afford one of the new deisel crew cabs I might do that... but it's way out of my price.

I have the unleaded crew cab (4 door but not full sized backseat) with the 5.7L (bigger than my Firebird) and the damn thing gets goin. It can slip a bit unexpectedly in rain, but thats more than tires and weight distribution than anything. Go drive one. I think you will really like it.

Just dropped mine off at the shop for 2-3 weeks. Additionally my Toyota shop is pretty spot on. They don't try and sell me on extra shit EVER.

I knew they had 4 valves but didn't know it would make that much difference.

I would be happy with 450 hp all day long.

Fresh gulf shrimp fried up all nice and tasty and shit

It's a cool truck... but it didn't fit me so well. And again similar year and miles as a US truck and WAY more cost.

I would disagree. Those rear ends suck balls.

How tall are you? I am 6'2" with my hair spiked and my shit doesn't touch the ceiling unless i raise my seat.

J

Width.... not length.

I am 6'2 I think

That's what she said..............and eh I can see that. I will agree the front seats aren't so wide.

My problem with the Tundra is that I am comfortable for maybe 10 minutes. Fucking Japanese have no idea how to design a seat. Absolutely terrible. I can almost seeing them laughing and pointing at us: "ha, ha, fuck you whitey. you buy our car for reliability so we fuck you with uncomfortable ass seat."

My only bitch is sitting on my wallet in those seats. Aside from that it takes me 3+hrs to get uncomfortable.

J

You must have short legs.

Regular no shoes height is 5'10", and my feet to hips is about 3'5".

No lie, the lumbar support in my expy with the EB seats is so good, sometimes when my back was spazaming I would just sit in it... or if I wanted some massage, go for a drive. So nice.

As you know, amusingly I've been shopping for an ergo desk chair. Figure it's one of those things I should own considering how much ass time I have. Not so amusing is that I leave the damn show rooms and get in the ML and it feels better.
