good unit? no one ever talks about blaupunkt so i know nothing of them.

I have the San Francisco CD72 and it is crap, I dropped it ONCE!!!! and now the faceplate falls off at arbitrary moments. I'm really just not impressed with the unit as a whole... I can't wait to replace it.

I list that Blau as my biggest audio mistake ever, and I used to think audiobahn was good... so that should say alot about how I feel about this H/U...

hey jason, i was wondering how u went about making the shape pointed out below. i think i'm gonna do that too to get more airspace, j /w how i would go about doing that. is it just a piece of wood on dowels? anyone else can chime in too. TIA

Appears to simply be a flat piece with fleece stretched over it.

here's what i'm thinking:

green = dowels

yellow = wood (what should i use?)

red = fleece

yeah it's just hardboard with 1 layer of glass on the back so it wouldn't bend or droop when I pulled the fleece.

and yes I am surprised that dropping the face once would damage it that bad, I've dropped many things including other faces and they held up MUCH better than that...
