Since the powder-coating shop is on vacation for a few weeks, my 2A3 rig is going to have a brushed-copper chassis...that's bling right thurrr.

How much does that stuff cost frosty ?

:lol2: :lol2: stop making him nervous

He's just a big chicken ... hour later and he still hasn't replied. :idiot:

I wish we had a local powder coating place. If I ever need something done it's going to cost an arm and a leg to send it somewhere.

The 2A3 one is going to end up in the $800 range, with tubes...mostly because of the custom work/NOS transformers. Good power/output transformers = pricey. As to be expected, because in a directly-heated triode design the bandwidth and noise floor is limited by the transformers. Unless you like listening to 60Hz AC...:D

The new 6BQ5 SE pentode amp was $150 off Eghey. I probably won't put much else into it, doesn't really need anything else.

heh, i meant the powder coat

Mmmm, 60HZ ac

I know a couple subs that didnt like that tone...:lol2:

somebody needs to get access to three-phase AC for some wall sockets :)

My parent's place in NC has a main service panel rated to 400A...that would be fun ;)

I wonder how a driver would react to 3-phase? 'Twould be interesting to watch.

I have a 220V for my dryer, but its gas ;)

No way we were cooking subs in my living room

1970's house....doesnt exactly have safe wiring

The garage is on the same circuit as my living room.

If i have to many tools on...POOF goes th ebreaker

Yeah, not to say that new wiring is safe...worst shock I've ever gotten is switching that 400A panel on for the first time

Didn't find it too funny at the time, though. Dumbasses. You'd think a contractor would know that putting a metal-framed window directly over unprotected Romex isn't quite a wise thing to do :ohsnap:
