I have an OLD Pyramid amp that is worse. It's only 4 ohm stereo and 8 mono stable, but I've run that Biatch at 1 ohm and it's still going. I can literally cook some stuff on it if I put some foil on the heatsink.

I had a pair of GT EL84's that went microphonic really fast...swapped 'em for a pair of new-old-stock Sylvania's and never looked back. Much better tone, and never developed problems. But YMMV...and you might as well get the lifespan out of them if they're working.

not to mention the Chinese-built 5U4G rectifier that I had first in the Decware Zen...damn thing would buzz loudly. Replaced with a GE one, completely silent.

I honestly am a nOOb when it comes to tubes. I havent had to replace any so far. The Sunn Head I have is 25+years old. Original tubes. Gets HELLA loud with 8 12s

I just got another 20 min of listening time in before shut off...at this point if it dies, it dies. Tomorrow I will do what Tom suggested, and take it to the local shop. Last option is to send it off to KB.

Dude must've seen the MSRP and thought it was high.

Direct pricing was right around the affordable mark when compared to other subs in the price range + class, IIRC.

I only have an account there to play games, I never accepted the confirmation e-mail ... so I can't clear that up.
