I woke up with my right arm totally asleep

I picked it up and it was like it was dead, it was freaky weird feeling

It just flopped around

That used to happen to me often. My body would wake me up, only to find my arm really swollen from getting blood cut off from it. Cant move it at all, I have to take my other arm to pick up my dead arm and position it so it gets blood. Then I can physically feel my arm shrinking as the blood starts flowing again. Really weird stuff. Obviously it's nothing like getting shot in the arm...

that happens to me quite a bit as well

Where has Tom been?  Hiding during finals?  Can't see through his hair?

the girlfriend is in town, only reason im on now is cause she was exhausted and needed to crash and im not that tired yet

Ok... guy beside me with sounds of nature on his laptop is about to die....

i mean he says 21nd  not 21st

so all you car people, have i been sleeping through this 2.0 ecotec shiz?  is this the new awesome 4cyl.  Seems to be very impressive.  Keep in mind a 4banger kind of guy, seems solid up to good amounts of hp while still keeping good gas mileage, the tranny is something to write home about too

guys on the fiero board are looking into it as a swap option,  would be quite sweet for a couple years down the road.  Let the ricers provide the market so you know you'll have aftermarket (overpriced, but there's always ways)

If I had to choose a good GM 4 cylinder, I'd go with the Quad4 over the Ecotech. Nothing impresses me about that engine atall.

i did love our old quad 4, would love to have had th HO version to see if it actually was any better

granted i'm not pushing the ecotec technology, but the engine in general.  and with the upgraded pulley it produces more hp than the 3.8 (and you can have the pulley changed while retaining your warranty)

that plus mpg, and the fact that the final weight distro comes up to about 49/51 with the engine/tranny combo...

of course i want to see further studies on it, right now all i know is ...very little

i know the 3.8 has been proven over time

You don't have to worry about warranty, so throw that out the window. Also, where as the smaller engine may make more horsepower, it's taking more boost/compression to do so. This causes increased wear. Also, think about parts. Parts for the newer engine will be more expensive and less accessible. The only positives I see are the weight advantage, and the fact that it's an inline engine and they just last longer(if properly maintained) that a standard V engine.

Another thing to think about concerning mileage, is it may be easier for the larger engine to push the car versus a smaller one having to work harder, i.e. burn more gas, to push the vehicle. People automatically assume the smaller engine will be more fuel efficient, but many times, a larger engine has to work less to do the same work. What's that word, oh yes, ENERGY.

Saw a sweet Black 03 GT at a lot yesterday. It was beautiful. I really miss my black car and I'm contemplating a trade, but I don't like the fact that the GT will never retai any resale value versus the Cobra.

parts may be hard to come by now but if this thing keeps increasing in popularity it will become far easier to find parts. May get more sought after and more expensive though.

Mileage could go down but i highly doubt it, would be something to keep in mind though.

the only two things that would really sell me is an engine that i can find (already crate engines are popping up all over the net)

and good reliable 300-400hp capabilities

give it to me in a 4cyl and i'd take it over a 6 or an 8 any day, of course just personal preference

My project car will be a turbo 4, but ONLY becuase the engine is a proven performer and I have experience with it. I really love inline engines! They are so smooth, but the 4.6 in my Cobra is surprisingly smooth as well. I just wish the chain drives were a little quieter.

I'm in the IHOP!
