Never have managed to catch one when I was actually trying too .

They are tough, even though much easier this time of year. Had a five fish day last year chasing them, but we still have to wait a few weeks before they open up.

The musky I have caught were while reeling in smaller smallies. Little to no fight, then zing off goes the smallie. Caught many heads of smallies

Had to many instances of those big ugly bastages breaking rods on me. They get rather large round here. The state record is over 100lbs
