Guess it depends on a lot of things though, that would be overkill in my car since it was pretty quiet stock. Overkill is good though.

When we had our sailboat, 27' magregor, it was about 1/2" Thick where we cut through for the graywater dump from the head.

Was it laminated with just glass (white) or did it have composite too ?

Laminated (White) and that was in the thickest part of the hull right by the centerboard drop.
