How do video games look on a wide screen TV?

Never dealt with one and will likely be getting one pretty quick here.

They look fine on all of my widescreen TVs (I don't own any non-widescreens now ) ... Plus, with the modern consoles, you can run in HDTV formats, so the picture quality is much better.

Unsure.

Sony Wega 42" widescreen LCD projection HDTV or Sony Bravia 46" widescreen LCD HDTV.

Debating.

LCD looks much better than LCD projection, IMO, plus you can wall-mount them, although they do cost a fair amount more. Make sure you get one with an ATSC tuner for future compatibility.

I don't even need a TV that large.

I just really like the picture.

Love how you can get a frickin' 26" Toshiba widescreen today for less than I paid for my monstrous eight million pound bubble screen 27" a few years ago.

I picked up a 26" Toshiba Widescreen HDTV several months ago for $399 ... Heavy SOB (91.5 lbs) ... Cable quality could be better, but DVDs and PS2 look very good ...
