My Spec has ~150ft*lbs right from idle to redline, which in a small car, is very nice.

the Camaro's torque peaks at 1600 rpm, 235 ft*lbs :P

And if you dynoed it today it would probably be 150ft lbs at peak.

probably :)

hey, its only got 2700 lbs to move around lol

Makes the M's 3900lbs seem a bit excessive.

the Camaro's not much more than 2700... just a couple hundred more I'm pretty sure

the Impala on the other hand is probably pushing 4400 with the audio stuff in it

Here ya go Tom.

In the first post I promised a surprise and here it is. The Bilsport magazine has a testtrack were they run most of all the cool cars they write about and they have a former professional driver that does all the driving of the cars. They even ran a F1 there earlier this year!

So I brought my car there today and boy did he drive it. Cool to see the brakes glowing. He did a pretty good time with my car, which by the way is the oldest one they have tested. It was on street tires, street front end setup and a damp track and he drove a 1.34.1. The driver said that with proper tires, better setup of the front and a dry track it would go under 1.30. They have driven a C6 at 1.28 earlier this year. The Jordan F1 did 1.13!

It was a 650 mile roundtrip for me and it drove just sweet. Cruising at 75-80 mph at 24 mpg!! LSx power rules!!

LSx motors are amazing. Buddy of mine, before he put in his high ratio gears in used to get almost 40mpg on the highway, while putting down 400hp to the wheels.

That's my to the wheels numbers, on a Mustang dynometer. :D

Hopefully one with a reasonable calibration.

Every six months it gets its maintenance & calibration.

Here are the photoshoot pics:

The Swedish magazine Bilsport has been haunting me for some time to get the car ready for an article. Well, today we did the photoshoot. Gonna be some great pictures. They rigged the camera on the front to get some cool pictures when the car is moving.

I'll keep you updated when the article is published and there is a cool surprise with that...

Good. Curious what dyno time costs up there?

In what sort of car?

99 Camaro SS

My max numbers were 413.27hp and 404.27ft/lbs of torque at the wheels..

Interesting enough my torque was 380ft-lbs at 3250rpm and maxed out at 4750rpm and slightly trailed off at the end.. My HP started out at 240 at 3200rpm and then quickly rose and maxed out at 6200rpm.. Lots of area under the curve in the torque and HP curves...

Needs more head. Pretty wicked on the near 40 though.

you mean floating 4400. :D

are you implying that my car is boat-like?

Not implying, it is. Within 300lbs of my truck, even though that is pre-topper and stereo.

yeah yeah, I know it's a bit hefty

it had the 2.73s right?

I've heard of low 30's with them, but never almost 40

Wait, Aaron's complaining about acceleration?

Want to switch vehicles for a week? :D
