finally laid one layer of fg in the jeep.

it's curing now. think i should add another one tomorrow before i yank if out ?

Yeah at least one more . And if your up to it , it's actually better to lay more than one layer at a time . The extra layers help build up and retain heat, which aids in curing :)

it was dark by the time i finished the first layer and decided not to continue.

7*C last night. i hope it's hard now.

any trouble with mixing 2-3 batches of resin instead of a large one ?

i think i'm goint to add 2 layers today. just need more brushes

no problems with making 2-3 smaller batches, less of a chance of it hardening up on you that way

hey all.

that can you hear me know car is the pimp!! maybe that's the route i should have taken with the hooptie.

any big plans for the weekend?

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

For a first time, that looks great.

Just pull it out, going to take some force & you will have to take the tape with it then.

That's why you have the tape in there, sure beats pulling out carpet instead :D

And Tom:

Let me guess, that car is from Florida, and the owner says it's for SQ...

:)

Picked up some oak to make rings out of t/m.

here's my first serious attempt at fiberglassing :

fully cured, just waiting for some sunlight to pull it out.

any clue how i should remove it ? the resin stuck to the masking tape :(

THat is very nice first time or otherwise . Once you pull tape and all out , like was said you need to remove the tape. Once you do the back side is still going to be sticky . You can either set it out in the sun , or use a hair dryer or heat gun to cure it.you can do that anytime you want to speed the curing process , just don't go overboard with the heat gun :)

chit, i've been out, i will be around at about 2pm tomorrow, gotta pick ale up, he's coming over as well.
