How big was the table? I have seen a bunch of bills over a G.

13 top, all baby boomers from the looks of it, they were pretty sloshed when I clocked out too, funny as hell

That is only 70 each...it barely buys appetizers someplaces.

Ok, question on some home theater speakers... I'm doing a 5.1 install for some friends, and I'm looking at using the Usher 8945P driver (7") for the mid on the 3-way mains, then a MTM setup for center channel and a TM design for the surrounds. Is having something like that just to flat out big for the surrounds? I've never done surrounds before and not sure on how big they have to be. I was looking at keeping all the driver/tweet setups the same to make sure the sound stays consistant as it travels around. So basically I'm wondering if having a TM using a 7" is just to damn much for surrounds and need to step it down to something like a TM using a 4" or so?

Opinions?

All the same and I like the idea of the Usher. Buy one and try it out, PE will take it back if you don't like it.

If you wait until the power tour this summer it will be one of the drivers that we listen to as a group.

Will be the SSA 7" listen off:

Usher 8945P

Seas Excel W18

Seas CA18

Seas Nextel W18NX

Scan Speak Revelator

Dayton RS180

And anything else that anyone else brings. If no one has one, I will buy a Peerless Exclusive as well.

At the moment my plan would be to do them all IB as I have a room that I plan on putting a "window" in to the next room. If it isn't finished in time, I might have to make an enclosure with a removable baffle but we shall see.

Kent,

This is the style of measurement that I would propose to explain the enclosure differences:

passattv0.jpg

Coupled with an acoustic response.

FYI: That is a VW Passat at 51Hz, a little free panel gain at that frequency eh?

holy chit batman !!! that is crazy! you can defintely tell where it's going to rattle, lol. that peak is the crazy.

and you have some serious tools/toys. hanging out here with you guys is really making me feel dumb. times like this, i feel like i belong at the chithole.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Kent, you belong here not the chithole believe me I like you which I surely can't say about the fools over there.

As for the peak, it is a bit exaggerated...but it does show exactly how the roof will bend when exposed to 51hz. When we do the box comparison we will see similar things in the mdf, although the motion will be less than the driver the surface area of the box is larger which is basically more Sd which of course needs less motion. It will surely paint a picture for us.

like me or not, most of the crew here really makes me feel inferior, lol. damn.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Bah, you have absolutely no reason to feel inferior. Ever.

yeah well, i look at the names in here and knowing what a few of you do for a living and/or what you are in school for, and yeah, my GED having ass feels pretty damn dumb. but thanks anyway.

you see the springfield i traded my rustbucket kimber for? it's a few pages back. can't wait till i get the little pig and pop off a few.

and with that....

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

Throw some 8's in there and you've perked my attention :turkey::drink40:

Matt said he'd fly in for it as well, plus I think with a little pushing a few others will come as well ;) Should be some room in the new digs to have some fun. First annual SSA kegger.

Sean, I could use some tweeter experience too :P

My collection of tweets isn't quite as extensive:

RS28

Seas 27tf

Scan speak D2904/6000

Vifa XT 19

I will probably have at least one more pair by then as well, as I am in love with the HDS's and "need" a set.

If I have any free cash perhaps a Behringer will be there as well.

Damn, this might get expensive I might have to put you all to work. :D
