I have a really, really bad back and I happened to hurt it on Tuesday night. I don't like it as much as something else that starts with an M, though. Morphine leaves me feeling like crap, hungover, exhausted, nauseous, etc.

Depends on the condition. The MSRP on those is around $400 if I remember correctly and I've seen a number of them on Audiogon for $200 or less.

i've never liked morphine, it's great for putting me to sleep, but it's quite characteristic for people on morphine to still feel the pain, it just doesn't matter as much to them.

then again i've never really had a pain killer that just killed the pain and left me normal

I fall asleep but I wake up feeling exhausted. The difference between falling asleep and a drug induced sleep are quite palpable for me.
