fuck me, up at 7am so i can get to class super early and study before the biochem exam.

this guy's tests always surprise me, at the review session people struggle to understand that dna strands are anti-parallel but the test comes around and they all seem to know how many esterified fatty acids are on a given phosphatidyl choline ....or pick your molecule.

given, any phosphatidyls have 2 fatty acids but i feel i still make my point.

The last time I was home I looked through mine, I don't know if I have anything short enough to work around here :)

Something tells me throwing topwater plugs with two trebles apiece off of a 12' rod on the New River is...a bit much...

Ever tried fighting a 30 pound four foot long musky , or a 50 lb flat head on light tackle ? You would be begging for a rod that size shortly afterwards :)

The rod would be, but not the plugs. You'd be surprised what bass will eat. I personally prefer topwaters to all other presentations and regularly use 2 or 3 trebled lures.

Yeah baby , early to mid spring while the smallies are feeding up , then after they spawn topwater is my favorite bait. I have seen 1lb smallies come completely out of the water after 6" zara spooks. Damn bait is almost as big as them, but htey still smack it . :)

I haven't fished freshwater in a looooooong time...probably don't need shock leaders with smallmouths, do ya? :P

One of these years I'd like to get back up to the Northeast for the fall striper run. They're getting back up in the 50 pound range more regularly now...after being down for a long time.

Not for the smallies , but a heavy or steel leader is a good idea for the toothy critters that are rather abundant in the new river :)

I like to drink a Rockstar from time to time. It gives me a lil jittery burst, but really I just drink it for the taste. Drinking more than one a day is plain bad.

Oh yeah Energy Drink and Vodka/Everclear is a definite winner!

Carbonated drinks and booze are even harder on your stomach. Pretty much everyone I know on prescription acid reflux meds drinks either Captain and Cokes or Redbull drinks near exclusively. All of them. Is it truly a pattern I don't know, but it is enough to make me believe so.

I don't think I'd beg to give the Musky that much leverage, 12' is the long. The thickness would be fine as my musky sticks are as robust as pool cues, but the length would be killer.

I've caught bull gills going after my spooks as well. If it really gets to 'em it doesn't matter how big it is they will swipe at it.

True , I use 7 foot flipping sticks musky fishing most of the time . But I see all kinds of people fishing and catching them with surf casting rods all the time, alot of times from the bank :)

The baits we throw up here will reek havoc on a flipping stick, once you get up into the 8-10oz bait realm you need a heck of a rod. I tried on my flipping stick and was having issues keeping 50lb test in one piece and of course casting with any precision.

You guys get northerns and muskies that grow twice the size of ours down here though :(

Also there is just the new river to go to for musky fishing really . There are other fisheries in the area with them , but now where near the numbers like the new river. I just don't go musky fishing very much is the reason I tend to just use the heaviest rods ( flipping sticks ) I have. :)

It is ... it's quite dangerous and really shitty for your body.

Nearly all of the energy drinks out there are absolute crap for you. Oh, and don't be fooled by "sugar-free" ... there is still sugar in it, but at a tolerable level not a ridiculous one.

In the spring, site fish them with a big bass jig and a steel leader. When they are really up in the shallows they can get mean. Drop it around 6" in front of their nose as quietly as possible. Only time of the year I have boated more than a half dozen in one day.

i think i did well on my biochem exam, high B or low A, but lets see how the numbers fall.

gotta go to the micro lab and do new dilutions and tests, then off to entomology lab field trip to collect bugs.

then home to study for a 9:30am exam tomorrow.

school sucks
