Yeah I may try a different brine next time, I have handfuls of brine recipes I rotate around. I tend to brine every piece of pork and poultry I make.

so what happens if you want to reenter the vehicle and the engine is still doing its cool down thing? turn off the engine (usually hitting the brake pedal serves as a kill switch) and turn it back on again or wait for it to cool down and turn off and turn it back on again or what?

Stick the key in the ignition, turn to run, hit brake, car still runs. It's just like a remote starter.

It's common sense really. If you put the key in and turn it to the run position, the vehicle will remain running whether the timer is or not. The timer is just a relay that keeps the ignition circuit closed until time is up. It does the same job the ignition cylinder/wiring does with the key inserted and in the run position.
