I have a Autotek Street Machine 1000.1RMS Mono Amp, and getting a 13.5'' W7. Will my amp be enough to power it? Alot of people have the 13.5'' w7 with a JL 1000/1 amp. I dont want to spend too much and upgrade to a better bigger amp. let me know thanks!

the w7 can take up to 2k

well your askin the wrong guy cause i tend to frown on anything maxxonics makes...

why did you pick that sub?

haha i see. well im on a budget lets just say that. I picked autotek because it was very cheap. i also picked JL because this is a great deal, with the factory prowedge box. If it wasnt for the great deal, I would have went with Fi Q.

w7 has way too much hype behind it.

Every one I have built boxes for have been disappointing. Dont get me wrong, they sounded pretty damn good, but for the price & size of that woofer you should get more.

Yeah, I would never in my life buy it brand new. Im just getting the sub and box for a great deal that I cant pass up. I would have been thumpin the Fi Q awhile back if not.

well a deal is a deal...

In my opinion, it would be worth saving for a better amp that might do less power.

that amp might not work out well for that sub. You would either run the sub at 3 ohms or .75 ohms. if you do 3ohms you'll be gettin around 330rms from that amp and at .75 ohms that amp might go into protection since it is only rated down to 1 ohm. I think the older autotek amps could play at lower than 1 ohm, but not the newer ones.

i would say to get a better amp too. your powerin an expensive sub with one of lowest of the autotek amps

Whats everyones opinion on Hifonics Brutus series?

same company that makes autotek

i had there bx 1608 amp, it worked for me until i decided to get the sundown 3000,

but hifonics doesnt put out how much they are rated for, same for autotek probably, along with crunch and mb quart. all made by maxxsonics

How much power you use depends on the install, goals, and mainly the enclosure.

So what enclosure do you plan on building or having built for this subwoofer??
