I have been wanting to try out a 12" Mag for a while now. The guy is selling an older version for $200+shipping. I think he may go a little lower, but I dont know yet.

Looks to be in decent shape, few cosmetic battle scars.

Major scratches on the basket but still looks OK.

Now this is what I am so skeptical about, he reglue the spider to the cone and basket. Looks like potential trouble in the future.

I really want one that I can have many hours of listening enjoyment from.

Please give some feedback on what you think.

I'd pay more than that just to get a claw basket in my hands.

Spider should be good to go under normal operating conditions.

If worst comes to worst, perhaps you can get a re-cone in the future and still keep the basket.

Thanks for the quick reply Steve. Do you know if the mounting depth is the same on both versions? The web site states 6.75" for both. I only have 6.875" so its gonna be a tight fit. And which is the newer version? The claw is the older one right?

I think it should be ok, ask Electrodynamic what he thinks, he has seen hundreds of them so he would have an eye for some thing if it was wrong

Ah, too much $$$ if you ask me. That basket is scratched all to hell. Spider is definately something of concern.

I just received a blown claw that I bought from a member here. It was in impeccable condition except for the same problem there. Nothing blown or open, yet the spider came unglued from the plateau. Coil rubbed in the gap and now it's useless. Other than that it was perfect. I would be hessitant about this one as you could have a similar problem yet it may not be audible as of now. And like I said, the shape that basket is in is just sad. How could someone do that???
