I see some of it as people have become so blindly lead to believe that a big number printed on the top of the amp means everything. The damage that people like MadMike or other PMR goobers have done to the education of the masses seems nearly irreversible.

Dats 35000 watts of power yo!!

So there is this total mental break down and the kiddies think they must have as many watts as possible regardless of quality of the amplifier, reality of the ratings, using a stock electrical system, a front stage or any kind of sound deadening. The idea that more watts always equates to more output really bothers me too.

no shit talk about Misconceptions

Hahaha, the jackhammer in that car reminded me of the movie 'Wierd Science' ...where the rocket was driving up through the floor

Funny, my buddy went to a shop here and told them hes looking for a 18", ive told him that hes only got enough room for a nice 15, but hes sorta ignoring me. Anyways the dude at the shop, some 20 year old tells him 18"s arent good, sound like crap, and are slow, cant keep up to music.

Dude also didnt know what Sundown was. HAH.

I like where it sounded so bad the guy came running out saying. I'm gonna be sick!

hahaha

I have to admit that i did'nt know what i was getting myself into when i bought a bl 15. i went way over budget, it took up way more room than i wanted, got way more loud than i was expecting or wanted for that matter. With the knowledge I have now i would have probably got an ssd...don't get me wrong though, the bl sounds great, it's just that I can't really bear the bass past 2/3 of the volume and when i start feeling brave and blast my music i usually pay for it in the morning by having really sore ears and headaches for the day.

only 136dB? wtf? how?

Wow!! I didn't know Jackhammers pack 24k watts of power?!! My subs only push out about 1500 watts ahahahahaha

:bigclap:

Oh yeah my amps usually do about 167db on the good days too

did he say "pre-facbricated boxes"?????

is it just me, or did those boxes seem really small for how freakin big that sub is?

if a 15" sub needs about 5 cubes, and an 18 needs about 10 cubes, shouldnt a 22" need like 15 cubes?

not to mention like 250sq inches of port or that the sub probably takes up like 2.5 cubes!!!

there is no way that box is optimized
