Posted November 4, 200816 yr i just purshased 2 18" btls.i have 4 cf for each 8 cf gross for both.i want to tune the box to 36hz .can some one tell me how many square inches of port opening and the depth ofthe port that i need.thanks
November 4, 200816 yr Thats not enough room for two gross, let alone net volume. Even one is pushing it after all displacements are accounted for
November 4, 200816 yr 1 BTL will need a minimum of 8 cubic ft internal volume with whatever tuning your looking to get. 128 cubic inches should give you roughly a 40 hz tuning if you wanted to go that high. To figure your port width take your internal volume and divide that by your internal height and that should get you in the ball park. Some recommend rounding to the nearest quarter inch. Try to stay within 10% of recommendation and you should be good to go! Please correct me if im wrong. Been awhile since I calculated boxes.Good luck
