I don't know if this is much help, but I have a Q18 in an 8cuft sealed enclosure for my home audio system and I have to say I've never heard a more crisp subwoofer. Soon I will port it to see how it sounds that way

Not like I have a whole lot of experience but I like the Q :)

DD has insanely nice drivers IMO.

LOL I agree, and sell em LOL that y I wondered why they was ruled out?? You can get anything from decent price, to sell the wife to get one LOL... its a good option

besides lack of room, what was the reasoning for putting out DD???

The whole "accurate" thing :P

Why not Q 15" sealed?

a Q15? hmmmm... havent crossed my mind? would it fit the box req. of no more than 3.5cube gross?

How would you compare the accuracy of an AQ or DD to the ICON? All in ported enclosures?

To the OP: I'd consider a single 12" SPL type sub: AQ, DD, Mach5, etc... and throw a ton of power at it if TL numbers are a concern.

Dialing back the gain on the sub amp and having a solid front stage can give you plenty of SQ for daily...
