Posted November 8, 200816 yr OK guys here's the question, will it be a big difference on the meter and by ear going from 4x RE SX 12" (powered by 2x USAmps MD-3D in an 7 ft^3 tuned at 34Hz) to 4x RE MT 12" in the same box and tuning but power by (4x MD-3D thus one Amp per MT's) I assume the MT is similar to the BTL's and they recommend 1.75ft^3 per 12" BTL drivers, so it will work ok.Will you notice a Big difference in loudness, and is it worth it the change?and how about to 4x FI BTL 12" in the same box and the 4x MD-3D?Anyways, thanks.Aruman
November 8, 200816 yr Well, more power and more efficient subs should be louder. Note I said should. One thing though, The SXs have alot of stroke and a lower Fs. They *might* be a little louder in the bottom octave. But, by the sounds of things, that might not be super important to you.You could also save money on amps/electrical and just make the box bigger with the MT/BTLs.....Is it worth the change? What is it going to cost for 4 BTL/MTs and a additional pair of MD3s, Like $2-3K+..... You tell us......
November 8, 200816 yr Author thanks Honda, I want louder on music and what do you mean by a lot of stroke? And if it isn't much louder on music, than it isn't worth the changeAnyways thanks.
November 8, 200816 yr Author thanks Honda, I want louder on music and what do you mean by a lot of stroke?for electrical 2x Ohio Gen 230 A Alt. for battery 1x Power Master D5100 and 2x PM D3100 in the back and 3 runs of power and 3 runs of ground to tofront battery. And if it isn't much louder on music, than it isn't worth the changeAnyways thanks.

That electrical looks pretty kick ass.
November 9, 200816 yr Admin Why do you want 4 drivers? As the BTL's can take some serious power, and can thrive in larger enclosures, why not start with a pair of the 12's with an amplifier per in a box that is on the larger side of the spectrum that is suggested. Then if you are happy with that, you have spent much less and have less weight in the vehicle.
November 9, 200816 yr Yeah, i think both the SX and MT lines have 22mm Xmax. i know my SX 12 hits lows, but of course thats because of my box and truck.
