Just wanted to get an opinion on the best SQ 8's 10's or 12's. I have limited experience with anything above the 200 dollar a sub range. For the sake of arguement lets use a small enclosure 1.5 cubes or less. With 1kw or less

From personal experience, I'm a big fan of Sound Splinter. The SQ is excellent & they get very loud doing it. On top of that, they are very efficient, and don't need much power. I'm sure you'll get other suggestions, but I havent vered far from SS are far as SQ is concerned. :drink40:

Two that leap right to the front of my mind are the Stereo Integrity Magnum v4 and the SSA ICON. The Incriminator Audio Flatlyne would also fit the bill

SSA ICON...ahhhh

Image Dynamics and Focal also

Great, thanks guys, I guess most of the other speakers out there are for spl purposes.

Keep in mind a large portion of the clarity of the sound reproduced by the sub woofer is dependent on the quality of the install. Meaning you could buy something along the lines of an IA Flatlyne, SSA Icon, Mach5 IXL, or Fi Q, but if the box is not built correctly or the amplifier is not set up correctly they will sound horrible until it is corrected. :)

isnt kicker a SQ woofa?

^ no no no no..

oh my bad....just making sure man

kicker imo is more spl oriented.

didnt try to attack you on that one, or sound rude in anyway. sorry if i did

Ya, I am thinking about redoing my Dodge and making me a center console, taking out the middle seat part, and building me a good ported enclosure. So was trying to get opinions, I was wondering if a DVC 4 ohm or 2 ohm voice coil made a realy difference in the sound quality. I know it will draw more on the amp, but are the 2 ohm set up a little heavier/stiff than the 4 ohm versions.

Personally I dont like kicker, I have polks right now single vc they are pretty good sounding, just wanted to switch to single 12 dvc, In the end I will probably end up changing my entire set up. I am leaning towards the Icon's everything I have heard about them is good good good.

Anyone have an opinion on say 4 8's versus 1 12, I can get a real deal on dvc 8's but I am not sure they can get down low as I want them 2.
