Hey guys,

Just wondering if you think I may have made a mistake with the 2 15's I am trying to squeeze into my car, I have a decent amount or room to play with... but do you think I should have went with 2 12's instead? Or do you think I should just throw the power at em and let it ride...

My box will be around 8 cubes. My trunk is actually around 17-18 cubes, it's just that it has a tiny opening... do you think there will still be enough room for the air to move around in it...

Thx

Josh

o i designed that one box for one 15 :o i thought thats what you were askin for. my bad. do your seats come down?

8 net or gross?

I have run 15's in 3 ft each tuned to 35 Hz and they sounded great. . .

I ran my bl 15s in a 7.3cu/ft box tuned to 32hz and they sound great! A 6-7cu/ft box tuned to 32-35hz will do those bls good!

Those are internal volumes!

Yea I wanted u to help me with a box for 1 15, I am not gonna put the other in untill I get another amp ;) ... Don't worry you didn't hear anything wrong when I asked for the 1

Well I mean I know I can fit them in there with around 7.5-8 cubes net... I have just heard some ppl say "if there is to much box in the trunk the bass or air cant flow around it and it will sound crappy... or not to its potential i.e. muffled." I was wondering if this was true? I am willing to actually build A few box's to test out different cubes.

I will be running a 1200D on each one. Just to let everyone know

if it sounds muffled turn it around and seal it off.

Seal the box off?

seal the trunk off behind the front baffle of the box. aka- don't let the waves back into the trunk.

So how should I have the box ported? which direction? How would I seal it off?

build the box normally, however you want it. Generally subs and port on the same face. Then once you get it to the car, try it both forwards and backwards. If you think having it backwards is the best, keep it there. If you think facing forwards is better, keep it there. Sealing it off behind the front baffle just means sealing the edges outside of the box to the sides of your car. Nothing to do with port or subs. It's basically a false baffle that extends from your box to the sides of your car, on both sides and on top. That way the subs fire into the cabin and because the trunk is effectively sealed off from the cabin, the bass stays in the cabin.
