I have a quick question regarding the BTL's.

My original plan was to get a BTL and run on a 3000D but i don't have enough money right now but i need something. Its killin me!!!

So my question is, would it be fine to get a BTL and run it off a 1500D for the time being till i get the money for new alt.,bats. and the 3000D of course lol( With gains set and everything)

And when i say would it be fine, i mean more of will it sound good, compared to a correctly powered BL?

P.S. - I understand the box is alot of it. You don't need to remind me

be easy on the gains and youll be fine :)

Perfectly fine. Go for it.

He could clip the hell out of it and still be fine.

ye but who wants to do that? ;)

I'm just saying, due to the high power handling of the BTL, a clipped ~1500 watt signal isn't going to be catastrophic.

You will be very disapointed in my opinion. I have tried a 1500d on my BTL I had in a previous setup. Its enough power to get it moving but you would be better powering a sub that is better paired with a 1500d. If you looking to make some noise it will do the job. But dont expect much from that combo. Do get me wrong Sundowns are my favorite amps I have ran but i just dont think a 1500d is enough power for a BTL.

yeah you are def going to need more than just a single 1500d. i run 2 1500d's on my single 15 and it impresses.

as sacket said get something that you can match with the 1500 in effeciency

No matter what anyone tells you, it will be louder off that amp than any other sub from Fi you can stick in there....

Technically, it is also the most "efficient" match for that amp....

Got the answer i needed. Thanks for the help.

technically its a 3dB difference between 1500 and 3000 watts...

technically its a 3dB difference between 1500 and 3000 watts...

:bigclap: but whether it holds true....now that is the question!

i never understood how doubling only gains 3dB... can anyone explain?

Wikipedia it...im lazy right now but its a formula.
