Posted November 26, 200816 yr this is my first time messing with car audio so im kinda of a noob but i know some what about it... i have an fi btl 15 and i noticed it has 2 ports where you can connect the speaker wire to, do i use both to power the sub or just one. also do i use regular speaker wire (( i actualy have some rockford fosgate speaker wire))to power the sub or some other kind of wire?
November 26, 200816 yr odd... how dud you come acoss this btl! you will use both voice coils, RF wire means nothing... use 10 gauge power wire.
November 26, 200816 yr what amp are you using, and what ohm is the sub? D1 or D2? Edited November 26, 200816 yr by RobClay
November 26, 200816 yr You need to wire it parallel, or in series...do a search on parallel/series here

November 26, 200816 yr Option 1 (parallel) = 0.5 ohm loadVoice coils wired in parallelRecommended Amplifier: Stable at 1/2 ohm monoOption 2 (series) = 2 ohm loadVoice coils wired in seriesRecommended Amplifier: stable at 2 ohm monoyou might want to get a different amp, because that hifonics is not going to put out alot at 2 ohms and I dont know if it will work at .05 ohms...
January 24, 200916 yr Heard from a lil birdy .5 will be fine. Just don't expect a warrenty.Btw that 2608d will be just fine. But be sure to upgrade your electrical under the hood and add a optima or two in the trunk. Voltage drop is a killer of these amps.

January 31, 200916 yr Find out what your amp runs for ohms and then figure out what to wire your sub to
