I see a lot of people recommend the BL subs for rap music over the Q subs. I listen to rap music mostly. What I'm looking for in a sub is that will give me strong accurate bass notes. I want something that will bang, but I'm looking for more SQ over SPL. I'm looking for something that will give me great low and high bass notes well. Based off of what I'm looking for in a sub should I be going with a BL or Q. I'm also not sure if I should go with one 12 or 15. I'm going to power the sub with a Zapco REF1100.1

how much space do you have? do you wanna run ported or sealed.

based on the sq being wanted i would go sealed...

but your kinda all over the place too..... rap/ hip how has little to no sq in it....

the bl is a bridge from the Q more of a sq sub..... and the btl.. a spl monster...

the bl imo sounds great on most all music... sounds great with rap and rn b

Thanks for the info, I should probably be looking at a 12inch BL, which means I would have to go ported. This will be going into a dodge status

If you have to go sealed, the Q is the only choice. A ported BL would be your loudest choice.

Think of the BL as a street basser. The Q is geared more towards an SQ sub. Both will sound good, the Q a little better. The BL will give you a little extra output.

If you have to ask the question, 99% of the time you are a ported BL buyer.

when i bought my Q18 w/ BP back in august, i mainly listened to rap. i put it in a sealed box and the sound was unbelievable. after though, i drew up plans to build a low tuned ported box, but just never did it just because i have a syndrome called "tomorrow". but recently i've been listening to more rock/alternative and techno, which the sealed is perfect for...

get the Q. go sealed. be happy

heard both, used both, the BL simply hits with a little more authority than the Q, and sounds like probably what ur looking for, so yes complete agreement with above posters. why stop at 15? the 18 will just be that much more output, really depends on where/how much space you are installing them in.

my friend has an 18" Q in a ported box and trust me I can barely sit in his car when he really cranks it up but it still sounds great while playing loud. Do you listen to any three 6 mafia?
