oh yeah when I was trying to research box designs and what not one of the more recent topics has the guy choosing SPL because it sounded cool.

everyone makes mistakes but if you are a n00b to subwoofers it can cost you.

I may be a n00b to installing sound systems because I have never done one, but I do know what is what... or at least I am learning.

I have a good understanding of basically everything that needs to go into getting good output out of a sub and the difference between blowing out your windows and still hearing the highs and having the lows hit hard at the same time

before displacement you get 8.62cuft with a port 18.5hx8w you want a port length 35in so a is 8w b is 12L c is 23L. total port displacement is 2.99cu leaving you with 5.62cu before sub displacement. i hope that helps.

k, so hypothetically, i have a box that is 7ft before any displacement and 5ft after all displacements.

do i want to have 112in^2 (7*16) or 80in^2 (5*16) of port area?
