Posted January 1, 200916 yr hi all i was wondering if anyone new the le:, z:, and pe: of a fi Q 18 because i need them to design my box on winisd and fi doesnt have them listed.thanks
January 1, 200916 yr The z is just the nominal impedence of the sub. so if you have a 4 ohm SVC sub, it's 4. if you have a 4 ohm DVC sub with the coils wired in series for the measurements, it's 8. The Pe is just the peak power, I believe. Just put it at 1000 or something. Maybe somebody else has the le.
January 3, 200916 yr Author realy thanks good thing you told me that because it was tellin me to use a 800L box tuned to 16hz and using the re calc i came up with a box that was 9.5 or so cubes before displacement tuned to 27.6 hz.how would that sound in an 95 to 01 body style 4 door explorer?
January 3, 200916 yr well winISD just tries to get you the flattest response when you first open the sub in it. That doesn't mean it will sound the best, though. You can change the box size and tuning in winISD to what FI recommends, and you can use it for things like port size and length.
